Monday 18th

Dear Kite Class

Hello! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Welcome to the last week of term! Here are some suggested ideas for your home learning, today.

9 o’clock - Maths - See BBC Bitesize websites below for Year 1 and Year 2, but I have uploaded the sticker challenges too, so you should have plenty to do. We are now on week 5. Or you can access the same maths through BBC Bitesize by pressing the red button on your TV.  If you need more to do you can always try IXL maths games from the website page or Timestable Rockstars. Use the maths table I gave out at parents evening to help you.  Write your work in your maths home-learning book.

10 o’clock - have a break. Make sure you wash your hands and eat a piece of fruit.

10:30 - English - IT’S NEW BOOK DAY! Mrs Earley’s group your new book is called ‘The Gingerbread Man’. Year 2 your new book is called ‘A place in space:the moon’. See books next to the learning grid for this week, Year 2, I have managed to find your book online once again. I would like everyone to read their book twice then ask a grown up to read it to you. Answer the questions at the back of the book. Remember to practice your red and green words everyday.  If any of you need more work, remember to read a book from your folder, the virtual reading corner or your book shelf and ask your grown up to record this in your reading record, they all count towards your reading certificates. Don't forget to practise your spellings too, maybe do the sentences for the second half of your spellings.

12 o’clock - wash your hands and enjoy your lunch hour

1 o’clock - Topic - As per the learning grid, look at the continents Powerpoint and Then complete the labelling challenge from the learning grid.

2 o’clock - Role-play - based on your new knowledge from our topic lesson, add items to your role play area. Don’t forget to put on your Kenyan costume you made and take some photos to stick into your maths homelearning book, so you can see the changes happening to your den. This is your last week of Kenyan role-play.

3 o’clock - golden mile - how many times can you run around the garden in ten minutes?

I hope you enjoyed your new story book! If you have any questions, ask your grown up to email me on the office email address found on the school website. Remember learning should be fun!
