Dear Kite Class
Here are some suggested ideas for your home learning, today.
9 o’clock - maths - please find work attached for Year 1 and then Year 2. If you need more to do you can always try Timestable Rockstars as per our class letter where you will find patterns counting in 2, 5 and 10, as we have been practising in class over the last few weeks and use the maths table I gave out at parents evening. Year 1, you will actually be learning counting in fives on your sticker, today. This should give you even more confidence. Year 2, you are continuing with fractions this week. Write your work in your maths home-learning book.
10 o’clock - have a break. Make sure you wash your hands and eat a piece of fruit.
10:30 - English - It’s new book day! Mrs Early’s group read the second Read Write Ink book in your homelearning folder. Year 2, your new book is called On Your Bike and is enclosed for you to read. Both groups need to read the book yourself TWICE and then ask a grown up to read it again to you. Then answer the questions at the back of your book. No writing today, your focus is reading and getting to know your new book including red and green words at the front. If any of you need more work, remember to read a book from your folder and ask your grown up to record this in your reading record. Don't forget to practise your spellings too, maybe do the sentences for the second half of your spelling words for this week. Last chance before we have our spelling test tomorrow and new words.
12 o’clock - wash your hands and enjoy your lunch hour.
1 o’clock - Topic - see my video clip above. Take some time to think about everything you have learnt about oceans. How many oceans are there? Where abouts are they? What animals live in the different oceans? Look back to your topic from last Monday (I have updated the web page to help you remember) about layers of the sea. Perhaps you would like to record your facts in the book you sewed in DT last Friday or use your red spellings book to write down everything you can remember. Do your best as always.
2 o’clock - Role-play - take your new book of facts about oceans into your ocean world. Take time to read your facts, is there anything you would like to change about your role play area using your facts. Maybe you could make some labels for your role play area using some scrap paper in your recycling box? You may need to take some more phots to stick into your oceans facts work.
3 o’clock - golden mile - how many times can you run around the garden in ten minutes.
If you have any questions, ask your grown up to email me on the office email address found on the school website. Have a wonderful evening. I’ll be back tomorrow. Keep smiling and stay safe.
