Dear Kite Class
Here are some suggested ideas for your home learning, today.
9 o’clock - Maths - please find BBC Bitesize video clip and activities for Year 1 and then Year 2 on the maths section of this week’s learning grid for the website or you could do the red button activities on your television. If you need more to do you can always try the IXL maths games or Timestable Rockstars. Use the maths table I gave out at parents evening, this should help you out. Write your work in your maths home-learning book.
10 o’clock - have a break. Make sure you wash your hands and eat a piece of fruit.
10:30 - English - Mrs Early’s group, to read The gingerbread man and complete the grammar work and correct the errors below. Year 2 to read A place in space: the Moon and complete the sheets below. Today Year 2, you could also start to plan your Big Write for tomorrow using the story map, below. The Big Write tomorrow is to write a fact page about the Moon. Have a look at our book of the week and see how the facts are laid out and how pictures or diagrams are labelled. You may wish to include other facts that you know about the Moon. Choose your favourite facts and draw them into the story map below. For example, what shape is the Moon? Where is the Moon? What’s on the Moon? And who has been to the Moon? Complete your story map with pictures, one fact could be your orange opener, then your blue build up, your third fact could have a purple problem, which you could then sort out with a red resolution (how the problem was sorted out) and finally your emerald ending fact. If any of you need more work, remember to read a book from your folder or book shelf at home or our new virtual reading corner on the homelearning page of this website and ask your grown up to record this in your reading record. Don't forget to practise your spellings too, maybe do the second column. I WOULD LIKE YOU ALL TO COMPLETE THE SPEED SOUNDS VIDEO CLIPS ON THE KITE PAGE WITH THE STARS.
12 o’clock - wash your hands and enjoy your lunch hour.
1 o’clock - RE - Look at the RE section on this week’s learning grid. Have you been picking or digging things in your garden? Then you have been harvesting. Have a look at the Harvest activities on the learning grid.
2 o’clock - PE - It’s Stay-at-home Sports Day! Write up your chart of races with a space for your race results - see learning grid. This will be either other people you will be racing against or a space to record your times from your timer. If you are outside, make sure you wear a hat and sun cream.
ARE YOU READY... ARE YOU STEADY... GO!
Which race were you best at?
Everyone’s a winner on Mrs Bennett’s Sports Day. Now have your reward lolly and a great, big drink! Do you have enough energy for...
3 o’clock - golden mile - how many times can you run around the garden in ten minutes?
I hope you had great fun doing your home learning today and that you challenged your self to up level your work, making it even better? If you have any questions, ask your grown up to email me on the office email address found on the school website. Keep smiling, keep washing your hands and stay safe.
