Wednesday 25th March
Good morning to you from a very quiet Butleigh School! It seems very strange to be having a one-way conversation with you all. I hope you're all managing at home. Just a note to say that the maths homework is re-visiting place value and number work rather than starting on our new topic on fractions. We will attempt that after Easter and then we can start looking at the White Rose sites that Mrs Cosser has introduced her children to via her home videos. So here are the two set pieces of work for English and maths today but there is also Rockstars and IXL.
Yes I did make a mistake and upload the same maths sheet for the year 4s today. Well done for spotting my deliberate mistake!!! I hope you decided to learn some more of your times tables instead.
Yesterday I suggested you could write a poem for our Class Poetry Book. I would like you to do a piece of writing every day so that it won't be a massive shock to your system when I get you back in the classroom and get you back to writing at length!
So here are some ideas for your poems:
You could make a lego model and then write a short poem about it.
You could write a poem about one of your favourite pets.
You could write a poem about home learning.
You could write a list poem based on the one below ... ten things you would find in a pocket. The pockets could be a wizard's; a teacher's a superhero's ... any person real or imaginary that you can imagine.
Here's one about a shipwrecked sailor. Don't forget to do a neat copy on A4 paper that I can put in our pickle of poets book when you come back. Handwritten please.
