At Butleigh Primary School pupil voice is very important. We encourage pupils to be independent, positive and proactive in all that they do. Many children are actively involved with positive change at our school. They share their ideas for improving playtimes, raising money and supporting local and national charities. School House meetings are then a great opportunity for the whole school to listen, share and discuss proposals from other children and then vote on these new ideas and initiatives.
Children in Year Six are taught how to lead these meetings and to gather children's ideas before presenting them to the Head Teacher. The children work together on projects of all shapes and sizes and can see first hand how they can make a difference. This "ownership" means our children are passionate and proud about what they do.
