  It was great to see our school football team play their first friendly match of the year away to Baltonsborough Primary School. They played incredibly well with a fantastic 9-5 win to Butleigh - well done everyone!

  

• Nothe Fort - Falcon Class

  Falcon Class enjoyed a very informative trip to Nothe Fort where they experienced life as a World War Two evacuee and learnt how the war affected towns such as Weymouth. It was lovely to see so many of them suitably dressed up for their visit. 

  

• Children in Need

  We raised a staggering £205.61 during our Children in Need day on Friday 19th November 2021. Thank you to everyone for making it such a great success. The children enjoyed dressing up, buying (and eating) the cakes and throwing water soaked sponges at our very brave House Captains! 

   

   

   

  

• Yeovilton Fleet Air Museum

  Our Year 5/6 class had a fantastic day at Yeovilton Fleet Air Museum where they learnt lots about the history of the Royal Navy with a focus on WWII. They also explored the different types of planes used by the Royal Navy through time compared with what planes are currently being used. 

  

• Remembrance Wellie Walk

  The whole school enjoyed a lovely autumnal walk to the War Memorial to take part in a Remembrance Service. The children quietly listened to and reflected on the words of the poem in Flanders Field read by some of the older children.

  The youngest and eldest child in the school laid our school wreath on the memorial as a group of children in Falcon class read out the names of those soldiers who fought in both WWI and WWII.

  The service ended with a prayer and blessing by the Rev. Chris Hopkins.

  

• Internet Safety Talk

  PCSO Tim came to visit our school this afternoon to talk to us all about his role in the community and how to keep safe when using the internet. 

  

• National Math Week

  We celebrated National Maths Week by completing a range of different activities. The children were set lots of logic problems where they really had to think and use their mathematical knowledge to solve the questions.

   

  During the whole school assembly, Falcon class shared what they had learnt about the famous mathematician Alan Turing. They also linked their maths to their WWII topic through exploring coding and the enigma machine.

   

  Kestrel Class explored the famous mathematician Ada Lovelace and learnt about her links with computer programming.

   

  Kite and Owl class enjoyed a range of different mathematical challenges and problem solving.
